This course will explain what Separation Distress is and what it isn't. We will outline the potential contributing factors that can in some cases lead a dog to suffer from this disorder. We will then lead you through evaluating how your dog is expressing his distress and under what set of circumstances it occurs for him. Identifying whether it is isolation distress, separation from a key person or confinement distress. Sometimes a combination of all three. Through our lessons on body language, management, appropriate desensitization and activities to build optimism and confidence in your dog we will help you walk through a detailed plan to change your dog's emotional responses to be left alone. We will also assist you on developing a safe management plan to have in place while your training is getting started so that your dog is not continuously facing his demons and adding to his stress responses. We will also review the importance of health and the possible of medication support.
