Are you dealing with worry & frustration daily, possibly stress & even fear? Or do you dread getting up every morning to face another day of challenges with your dobermann?
Are you faced with:
- Barking & lunging at other dogs/people?
- Mouthing & biting you?
- Demand barking?
- Destroying things?
- Chasing everything that moves
- Barks/lunges at the TV?
- Barking/whining in the car?
- No recall?
- Can't have visitors in your home?
- Pulled you over whilst out for a walk?
Owning a dog who struggles in their environment can be hard for us as well as them, and can result in feeling very judged and isolated by people who do not understand the breed.
Our specialist course will show you why these behaviours are occurring and give you the tools to change things for your future together!
At Dobercademy we believe in
Training through Kindness, Knowledge and Understanding
With our breed specific knowledge we can show you how to harness the intelligence, drive and spirit that lives within our dobermanns and transform them into well-balanced, owner-focused companions
Here's what our students have to say:
Like A Different Dog
Alison shared that her walks with Dexter were isolating and stressful, with constant worry about encountering others while out and dealing with his extreme reactivity. She has now learned about the breed and the background to reactivity and through the course has been able to identify triggers, practice fun games for focus and enrichment, worked on recall and prey drive. Dexter is now a different dog and their relationship is much stronger. She really enjoyed the online learning and being able to work at her dog's pace.
From Last Chance to Success
D-anne & Koda's journey took them from being completely unruly to the point she wound up in the hospital from his uncontrollable reactions, to being able to visit her partner's workplace and even calmly wait in line at the pet shop. They now can regularly go on outings and his behaviours in the home with her children and cats have become positive interactions. She has the skills and knowledge needed to keep enriching their lives together.
Sense of Safety Restored
Lynn joined with Leto when she was really struggling with him as an adolescent and was desperate for help. They had just moved to a new area and Leto was struggling with new sights, sounds and an established dog population. Things had spiraled to a point that she was feeling very unsafe walking him. After working with Dobercademy she was able to learn the causes of his behaviours and what to do to manage and enrich his life to lower his arousal. She loved the live sessions and support but especially valued the training ideas and skills to practise. Leto has turned into an amazing gentleman and their bond is incredible now.

Training Both Ends of the Lead
Because we know hard it can be to deal with reactivity we take a "both ends" approach to dealing with it. Your course will provide information for how to handle your stress and well-being so that you can be the best for your dog. You will also learn how to put management in place to help lower your dog's stress and give you both a mindset shift to start fresh. Management and self-care can provide immediate relief while you work on learning how best to deal with your dog's struggles and practice your new skills in environments when ready.
Robust & Breed Specific
With an intense focus on the breed needs and the characteristics that have been honed by the very intentional establishment of the breed, this program will layer our years of experience working with dobermanns and helping others discover how to make the lives of our dogs enriching and help them succeed in our modern world.
Varied Resources
Your course includes access to our info packed, live Zoom lectures, video instruction for skills that are being taught, downloadable resources to have on hand for daily reminders and record keeping, along with a thorough written programme.
